Description

Using Georgetown University’s Leadership Coaching program as a case study, you’ll  explore the role of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) in coaching education.  Expanding beyond program content, this session will highlight how to integrate DEIA within an overall program and classroom / learning experience.  You will come to understand that teaching DEIA concepts and practices without a holistic DEIA approach in the program may undermine the student’s learning experience and ultimate impact as a coach. You will understand that a holistic approach includes program leadership, systems and processes, faculty development, facilitation and training techniques, and course materials. As a result of this session, you will be equipped to identify strengths and weaknesses related to DEIA in your coaching education program and develop 1-2 next steps for further development.

As a result of this session, you will be able to:

  • Describe the importance of a holistic approach to integrating DEIA into their coaching education program
  • Identify strengths and development areas within your coaching education program
  • Develop 1-2 action steps you can take to further integrate DEIA into your coaching education  program
