We are excited to bring the world's largest in-person professional coaching conference, ICF Converge 2025, back to where ICF was founded 30 years ago, California! We are also thrilled to launch a global conference strategy that will enable the global coaching community to connect in person in more locations around the world. More information is coming soon.

Below are some of the many considerations we take into account:

  • Accessibility— How easy is it to get in and out of the city? How many potential attendees are there within driving distance? Is it easy to find flights in and out of the city?
  • Location — Is it local to a large portion of our membership? Is the city big enough in terms of hotel rooms and convention space to host Converge? Have we been to this city before? Is it a city that people have previously rated highly in post-meeting surveys? 
  • Cost — What is the cost of the convention space and hotel meeting spaces we’ll need to host our meeting? Convention and meeting spaces that are too high can raise the cost of registration, which we try to avoid. 
  • Room Rates — We make every effort to secure attendee room rates of less than $300 USD/night pre-tax.  
  • Sustainability – How is the city and venue working towards food recovery, waste diversion, and capturing metrics of impact? 

All conference sessions, events, and discounted hotel guestrooms are located at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel, San Diego, California, USA. If off-site events are offered, further details will be made available. 

October is prime convention season and hotel prices increase to meet this demand. ICF has secured a discounted guestroom block for our attendees at a lower rate than average for the area during this time. A discounted reservation link will open at the same time as conference registration. ICF will be celebrating its 30-year anniversary at ICF Converge 2025, and we anticipate 1,700 attendees from across the globe joining us in California!  

  • Coaches: This event is created for, and by, coaches from around the world. It features curated content designed to connect you with a greater network of coaches, support your professional growth, and advance your credentialing journey with CCE credits. 

  • Organizations with Internal Coaches: For employees in companies with internal coaches or those looking to initiate coaching programs to foster growth and empowerment within their organizations. 

  • Coach Educators: Connect with fellow educators while learning leading practices in coaching education and emerging industry trends so you can better equip coaches with what they need to thrive in our modern world.  

  • Those who Using Coaching Skills: Individuals who hold positions in human resources, talent development, or other leadership roles within organizations will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge on applying coaching skills to support others. 

  • Businesses Supporting Coaches and Professional Entrepreneurs/Solopreneurs: Join as an exhibitor or sponsor to showcase your products and services empowering our 60,000 coaches and growing!

Which airport should I fly into?

The San Diego International Airport – SAN is the closest airport to our host hotel. 

Transportation from the airport is accessible outside baggage claim for easy transfer to all area hotels via ride share, taxi, or shuttle service. The airport is approximately 15-25 minutes from the hotel.           

Non-citizen, non-immigrant air passengers no longer need to show proof of being fully vaccinated with an accepted COVID-19 vaccine to board a flight to the United States.  Please be sure to review other vaccination requirements for your originating country when making travel arrangements. 

You can find information about traffic conditions, weather, impacts from wildfires and other travel advisories affecting the state of California by visiting the Visit California Travel Advisories page. ICF will monitor any advisories and communicate with in-person attendees if necessary. 

Please go to the travel.state.gov website and click on the US Visas tab. As every country has different guidelines, you may need to discuss this matter further with local agencies to determine eligibility and paperwork required. 

During Converge 25, simultaneous interpretation services will be available to in-person and virtual attendees for all sessions. This service is provided by Wordly, an artificial intelligence (AI) translation platform that can be accessed on smartphones. Wordly supports 25 languages, which you can browse on its website. 

When will the Calls for Presenters and Reviewers open? 

The Call for Presenters (CFP) and Call for Reviewers (CFR) will open in early 2025.   To be notified of important updates, including when CFP and CFR open, please complete our interest form at https://coachingfederation.org/events/icf-converge.

The call periods will be open for approximately one month. The CFP and CFR packet, which is forthcoming, will provide more details about submissions, reviewing commitments, and more. 

Attendees will find the same spirit of camaraderie with a new design in mind! Here are just a few changes to look forward to:

  • Previous Converge conferences have been held over four days. Understanding your time is valuable, we have created a three-day format for 2025.
  • More networking opportunities will be built into 2025 to allow for greater times of connection for affinity groups, first-time attendees, and growing your global connections.
  • Chapter incentives will be launched to encourage group attendance, room-sharing opportunities, hosting a chapter meeting on-site, and more! Details to come before registration launches.
  • To grow a sense of inclusivity and belonging for our non-English presenters, a session room will be dedicated to speakers who may feel more comfortable presenting in a language other than English. Wordly will be available to all session attendees throughout the event (including this room) to translate session content into their own language. Please note: Presentations submitted during our Call for Presenters will still require an English-language abstract.

The CCE value for each session will be listed with the session description. The system for tracking and receiving your CCE credits will be described closer to the event. Both In Person and OnDemand content will count towards CCE’s. 

When will registration open?

Registration fees will be announced in 2025. 

  • In Person: Join us in person from Thursday through Saturday for pre-conference workshops, community service, off-site tours, receptions, keynotes, and concurrent sessions offering CCE credit, and free Wi-Fi in all the guest and meeting room spaces. 
    • Pre-conference Workshops: can be purchased for an additional fee, for in-person attendees only. 
  • One-Day Registration: Join us in person either Friday or Saturday in San Diego and receive access to keynotes and concurrent sessions on that day. CCE credits, free Wi-Fi, food and beverage and access to all the meeting room spaces will be available to one-day attendees. 
  • Virtually: Join live sessions virtually and receive on-demand session recordings approximately two weeks after the event concludes (workshops and non-traditional sessions not included). 
  • On-Demand Only: Receive access to on-demand session recordings approximately two weeks after the event concludes. (workshops and non-traditional sessions not included).

*Please note, dinners are not included so that attendees may enjoy local cuisine in the Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego.

If your spouse/partner wishes to attend a session which you are presenting, a Guest Pass will be made available upon request, for an additional fee. More details about Guest Pass pricing will be announced closer to registration opening.

ICF Converge 2025 will host pre-conference workshops on the morning of Thursday, October 23. These workshops are purchased at an additional cost during conference registration. Limited seats are available.

I need to cancel my registration. What is the process and what can I expect as a refund?

Registration cancellations and refund requests can be made directly through the registration system, minus a $150 USD administrative fee will be given for cancellations received by that date. No refunds will be granted after September 30, 2025. Refunds will not be given for no-shows If canceling for medical reasons, submit your request along with doctor's note for a full refund, minus the $150 USD administrative fee.

Only one substitution is permitted per original registrant. The individual submitting the substitution request is responsible for all financial obligations associated with that substitution. More details about substitutions will be made available closer to registration opening.
